I had the pleasure of speaking to 5th-semester architecture students at the University of Thessaly - School of Architecture about #CreativeSustainability and innovative approaches to #UrbanGovernance.
Even at an early stage in their studies, students explored #DesignEthics, the role of experimentation, and how emerging technologies like #Blockchain and tools like #RegulatorySandboxes can enable transparent, decentralized, and participatory city management.
We discussed the promise of #SmartCities, the importance of #UrbanEthics in guiding socially just, inclusive, and responsible urban transformation, and the risks of oversimplified #UrbanBranding narratives that overlook local identities and inequalities.
Combining technological infrastructure, creative sustainability practices, and strong ethical frameworks can redefine how cities are designed, managed, and perceived—creating resilient, human-centered, and participatory #UrbanFutures.
Thanks to Iordanis Stylidis for the invitation and the engaging dialogue with students.
